Scope of the TERA Conference 2026 & WERA Focal Meeting

1. The emphasis of Conference is on papers, posters, and symposia with a lens that is worldwide in perspective. To create synergy with the theme of the conference "Bridging Cultures, Co-creating Knowledge: Local Innovations and Global Visions in Education”, submissions of papers, posters, and symposia related to these issues are also welcomed. Otherwise, there is no restriction on the education research topics appropriate for consideration, although priority will be given to submissions that focus on research and findings addressed to significant trends, issues, and challenges worldwide.
2. The final deadline to submit is 14 May 2026; 23:59 Taipei (GMT+8) time. Duplicate submission of the same paper, poster, or symposium through the online submission systems is not allowed. No submission or extension after the given deadline will be possible.
3. Presenters have to specify the language format (ENGLISH or CHINESE) they wish to use for their presentations during online registration.
4. Abstract submissions are requested to follow APA 7th edition format with font size 12, 1.5 spacing and the following structure:
   • Title
   • Research Overview (English 50 words or Chinese 75 words)
   • Purpose of Study
   • Research Methods
   • Results and Discussion
   • Keywords (maximum five)

The acceptance of paper abstracts will be announced before June 1, 2026 via email. (Second Notification of Acceptance: 2026/06/15)

Oral Submissions

• Please submit an abstract (800 words for English presentations or 1,200 words for Chinese presentations) for review.
• Individual papers will be grouped into coherent sessions of up to four to five papers in a 90-minute slot.
• These sessions will have the discussion at the end of the session rather than after each paper.
• The final presenter for each paper presentation slot will serve as the session chair.

Poster Submissions

• Poster presentations include Physical Posters and E-Posters. Presenters may choose one format.
• Physical Posters: 90-minutes sessions held; presenters are expected to stand by their posters. Physical posters may be presented in English or Chinese.
• E-Posters: Held in presentation rooms; each presenter will have 5 minutes for their presentation, followed by a 15-minutes Q&A session for the entire session. E-poster presentations must be conducted in English.
• Please submit an abstract (800 words for English presentations or 1,200 words for Chinese presentations) for review.
• Posters must be submitted as a text file in the Submission System.
• Once the results of the evaluation have been announced, a template will be provided for presenting the posters.
• The posters will be presented during in-person sessions during the event.
• The best posters will receive a prize.

Symposium Submissions

A symposium offers a platform to explore a specific education research topic through an international or comparative lens, incorporating diverse perspectives and in-depth discussion. Proposals are submitted by an organizer, who may also serve as a chair, presenter, or discussant. Each symposium includes a chair, a discussant, and 3–5 participants (presenters and discussants combined):

• Submit a 800-word abstract of the symposium, including the title and a brief paragraph about each paper (minimum of 3 papers and maximum of 5 papers) in the symposium.
• The symposium must have a clear focus, with each paper aligned to the overall focus/theme while offering distinct perspectives.

Approved symposia will be allocated a 90-minute session.
